K1DS ARE HEROES
A big Thank you to all study families
In 2023, GPPAD created the K1DS ARE HEROES campaign to raise awareness for type 1 diabetes and educated about symptoms and early detection options across all nations participating in GPPAD. K1DS ARE HEROES translates the everyday challenges of type 1 diabetes and the indispensability of families for our research into the positive image of superheroes. It pairs strong visuals and positive, emotional storytelling to spark interest in an under-recognized health topic. A multi-channel strategy with online and offline measures was used to reach as many people as possible. For example, over 2000 billboards in Munich, Dresden, and Hannover showed the campaign, media outlets reported about K1DS ARE HEROES, and social media engagement on Instagram was triggered. We thank almost 60 network partners helping us to spread our message. K1DS ARE HEROES was awarded with the Quadriga Digital Communications Award 2023.
